Denne intense dokumentar går bag de lukkede døre på et offentligt hospital, der kæmper med at tage sig af patienter, der i overvejende grad ikke har forsikring.

Amazing documentary! Should be required viewing for every member of Congress. This is what you face if you're uninsured and unemployed or one of the working poor in America. It HUMANIZED these people. And the patience and compassion of the medical professionals was nothing short of heroic as they struggled to meet people's needs day after day in a system that was never designed for it.

If you've never had the opportunity to visit the hospital emergency room when you are feeling really sick, scared, helpless with NO INSURANCE..this will be an eye opener. If on the other hand you have health insurance, after seeing this documentary you will probably DO anything to keep it! This documentary is soooooo well done. The camera doesn't flinch in showing the ugliness and utter sadness of what can happen to even the best of us when we need medical care, from overworked caring doctors and nurses. I felt like crying.

As someone who works in an ER, the troubling aspect of this documentary is that what is captured here is not a singular occurrence, but truly the status quo when it comes to emergency rooms across America. I've always said everyone needs to work a 12 hour shift in their local ER to truly see what "the best healthcare in the world" is like, and this documentary does a great job of lifting that veil off of the unspoken side of American healthcare. More and more Americans are finding themselves without health insurance (for a multitude of reasons), and end up using emergency care physicians as their primary care doctors. This is not how the system is set-up to work, and until we make some changes the system will continue to under-serve and under perform. I applaud the filmmakers for capturing the true nitty-gritty details of emergency rooms, which now serve mostly to treat people for their chronic pains and illnesses instead of what we all picture as "emergencies". Everyone needs to see this Documentary.
